About the company

Our client is an international online gambling and sports betting company. Operating in Europe, Latam, and some Asian countries, it provides a platform for users to place bets on various sports events, casino games, and other online games. The company is known for offering a wide range of betting options.

Client’s payment setup before Corefy

Before partnering with Corefy in 2021, the client relied on a team of experienced developers, analytics, direct integrations with PSPs, and their in-house payment processing. Since the client didn’t have a PCI DSS certification, they mainly offered their clients alternative payment methods, processing card transactions through redirects to the providers' payment pages.

Why choose Corefy?

Communicating with their network, the client evaluated several options, seeking a payment partner equipped with a wide array of out-of-the-box integrations.

The company’s primary objectives were:

  • speed up scaling;
  • ensure a swift and seamless expansion;
  • enhance customer experience by offering an extensive selection of payment methods.

Customised checkout

Having direct integrations with PSPs and no PCI DSS certification, the client’s website didn’t have a unified customised checkout. Thus, their clients were redirected to different payment providers’ payment pages, which could cause suspicions among clients and damage the conversion rates.

Integrating Corefy helped our client to set up their own payment page and align it with their website’s design to increase trust and consistency during the customers’ payment journey.

Wide choice of ready-made connections with PSPs

A crucial moment in our client’s project success is offering a wide choice of payment methods to attract and retain gambling players from various geographies. To cover this need, the client hired a team of experienced developers to establish direct integrations with each provider and ensure further updates and support.

When our company started expanding to new geographies, the main business need was quick integration of new local payment service providers.

Two years ago, when the client chose Corefy's gambling solution, they gained instant access to over 200 off-the-shelf integrations with payment providers. From that point onward, connecting and utilising any of these payment providers for processing client transactions became a seamless process, requiring just a few clicks within the Dashboard. Also, the client could request a custom integration if a specific provider was required. As of 2023, the number of readily available integrations on our platform has expanded to over 300, and we've integrated about 30 PSPs at the client’s request.

Operating in a high-risk industry, gambling merchants often face payment service providers' downtimes or malfunctioning. Some of them can even cease to exist. That’s why it is crucial to have failover options for various geographies and currencies.

Flexible payment routing & cascading

Since the client works with many payment providers, the ability to configure complex routing schemes was necessary for their payment setup.

Diverse attributes. Corefy's routing engine allows gambling businesses to create schemes by leveraging over 100 routing attributes. One of the most crucial is the card's first digits (BINs), enhancing flexibility and precision in payment acceptance.

Knowing which providers show the highest success rates for certain BINs, our client can set up routing accordingly. Besides, if some vendors limit transactions for certain BINs, the client can consider those limitations in the routing scheme.

Metadata attributes. To set up their routing schemes, the client utilises metadata attributes. Drawing from internal statistics and analytics, the client team establishes specific transaction metrics and includes them as a specific key in each transaction’s metadata. Typically, these are some clients' data attributes. Subsequently, they transmit this metadata to us, enabling the configuration of flexible routing and cascading in our system based on the values of each transaction’s key.

Traffic segmentation. The client thoroughly analyses and gathers many indicators to separate primary and secondary traffic. It includes segmenting traffic by country, IP address, and client-specific data, as certain providers require distinct indicators. By assessing these metrics internally, the client identifies which providers are more receptive to specific traffic and which are not. Subsequently, the client shares this metadata with us, enabling our system to route transactions through the most efficient channels based on the provided data.

Routing filters. The client also actively uses routing filters for processing. They allow for limiting the routes for transaction processing according to various criteria, such as card issuer, card network, commerce account, etc. In any scheme, cascading to several terminals takes place in a specific sequence, and if there are certain limitations on one of the terminals, the system will skip it and send the transaction to the next terminal in the branch. Thus, the transactions are processed faster and via the right terminal. It reduces the number of failed attempts, improving conversion for the provider and the organisation.

With the help of a dedicated Customer Success manager, the client’s team tackles a deep analysis of their payment traffic, monitoring a range of metrics, spotting the weak points, customers’ behavioural patterns, and different providers’ performance. Aligning their inner analysis results with Corefy helps the client to set a range of routing attributes and filters to configure sophisticated schemes that work best for their clients in various geos.

Conclusion

As of Q4 2023, the client actively utilises the white label payment solution for gambling to offer a smooth payment journey for each customer. Our Routing & Cascading feature helped the client configure complex schemes with various attributes and filters to increase conversion and combat fraud. Also, the client takes part in beta testing of the new version of Corefy’s payment orchestration platform.
