What is Transak and what do they do?

Transak is a fiat-to-crypto payments infrastructure provider, giving wallets, exchanges, apps and games a way to let users buy and sell digital assets using everyday payment methods. Founded in 2019 by Sami Start and Yeshu Agarwal, the company is headquartered in Miami, with additional offices in London, Bengaluru, Dubai and Hong Kong.

The platform connects fiat payment rails โ€” cards, bank transfers, SEPA, Apple Pay and Google Pay among them โ€” to more than 130 cryptocurrencies across 45+ blockchains. Businesses integrate Transak's On-Ramp and Off-Ramp products through a pre-built widget, mobile Software Development Kits (SDKs) or a white-label Application Programming Interface (API), with a partner dashboard for managing accounts and monitoring transactions after launch. Behind the interface, Transak runs Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screening and transaction risk monitoring, so the integrating business doesn't need to build that compliance layer itself. More than 450 apps use Transak today, serving over 10 million users worldwide.

Who is it for?

Transak is built for Web3 companies that need to onboard non-crypto users without redirecting them elsewhere to fund a wallet. Typical customers include crypto wallet providers, Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplaces, Decentralised Finance (DeFi) protocols, blockchain gaming platforms and centralised exchanges โ€” any product where a user needs to convert fiat into crypto, or back again, without leaving the app.

Why do businesses choose Transak?

  • Broad asset and chain coverage, so partners can support new tokens and networks without building separate integrations for each one
  • Multiple integration paths โ€” widget, SDK or white-label API โ€” fitting both fast, low-code launches and fully custom checkout flows
  • Compliance handled end-to-end: KYC tiers, AML checks and sanctions screening are built into the flow rather than left to the partner
  • A non-custodial model โ€” Transak never holds user funds, delivering assets directly to the wallet address the user controls
  • Proven scale, with hundreds of live integrations already processing payments in production

Businesses using Corefy can simply obtain a MID from Transak and connect it to Corefy's dashboard in a few clicks, without dealing with any integration work.

Is Transak trustworthy?

Transak operates through registered entities across several jurisdictions. In the UK, Transak Limited is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a cryptoasset business. In the United States, Transak is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and holds money transmitter licences in multiple states, including Illinois and Missouri. It is also registered with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), and India's Financial Intelligence Unit, alongside Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration in the EU.

On the security side, Transak holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its information security management systems and is compliant with System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) Type II โ€” the first fiat-to-crypto on/off-ramp provider to reach that standard. Combined with its non-custodial approach to user funds, this gives partners a compliance and security foundation they can build on without additional due diligence.
