What you need to do for start processing transactions (brief summary)

  1. Choose account type
  2. Get your credentials (from CoinGate)
  3. Connect in Dashboard
  4. Send an API request

Choose account type

CoinGate can be connected in different ways (depending on your needs):

  • If you do redirect payments (customer redirected to a hosted payment page to pay with cryptocurrency) -> choose Provider account

If you're not sure which one to use, confirm with your Corefy account manager.

Prerequisites: get from CoinGate

Get the following values for your CoinGate project/account:

  • Auth Token -> Corefy field api_key -> example: aBcD1234EfGh5678IjKl -> used to authenticate every request to CoinGate's API and as the secret key for signing/verifying payment requests and callbacks -> where to find: CoinGate dashboard, API -> Apps -> + New App (shown only once at creation time)

Important

CoinGate's Test Mode requires separate credentials. Register a separate account at the CoinGate sandbox environment and generate an Auth Token there - your live Auth Token does not work in Test Mode.

Payments processing (connect Provider account, create payment-invoice)

Connect Provider account in Corefy Dashboard

Step 1 - Open connection form

Open CoinGate in the provider directory and press Connect at CoinGate Provider Overview page in the New connection section. Choose Provider account.

Step 2 - Fill in fields and select settings

  • Auth Token -> api_key
  • Test Mode -> (enable if you are using sandbox credentials)
  • Currencies -> select which of EUR, USD, BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC to enable for this account

First request to Corefy API

What it does: creates a payment-invoice and returns a redirect link to CoinGate's hosted payment page.

CoinGate's connector does not read any customer fields at all - Corefy never forwards customer name, email, address, phone or similar data to CoinGate for this flow, so the minimal and extended requests are the same.

CoinGate also supports bitcoin_btc_hpp (BTC), bitcoin_cash_bch_hpp (BCH), ethereum_eth_hpp (ETH), litecoin_ltc_hpp (LTC), and coingate_eur_hpp (EUR, same shape as the example above) - the request shape is identical, only service/currency change. Choosing a crypto-specific service (bitcoin_btc_hpp, bitcoin_cash_bch_hpp, ethereum_eth_hpp, litecoin_ltc_hpp) sends the customer straight to pay in that cryptocurrency; choosing coingate_usd_hpp/coingate_eur_hpp redirects the customer to CoinGate's hosted invoice page to pick any supported cryptocurrency themselves.

Additional info

  1. CoinGate sends payment status notifications to a callback URL that Corefy generates automatically and includes in every payment request - there is no separate webhook URL to configure in your CoinGate account. Notifications are signature-verified using your Auth Token.

FAQ / Troubleshooting

  • Invalid credentials / auth error -> verify you used the correct Auth Token for the selected environment (Test Mode requires a separate CoinGate sandbox account and token)
  • Currency or cryptocurrency not supported -> confirm the currency is enabled both in your CoinGate account's Currencies setting and in Corefy
  • Payment stuck in "confirming" or "pending" status -> this is expected while CoinGate waits for blockchain confirmations; the status updates automatically once confirmed
  • Not sure which account type to use? -> ask your Corefy account manager
